TLC needs your vote to win an international award – and it only takes 30 seconds!

A message from Billy Gorter, This Life Cambodia founder and Executive Director.

This Life Cambodia needs your support and it won’t cost you a cent, just 30 seconds of your time to vote for us. We are one of 5 finalists for a prestigious global prize called the Grassroots Justice Prize, which recognizes organisations doing life-saving work to protect and promote the legal rights of vulnerable people. Out of the final 5 we are the only NGO based in Cambodia, and indeed Asia, and the only organization recognized for its efforts to reduce domestic violence, so if you care about these causes then please vote.

Just go to and 30 seconds later you will have voted. You won’t be added to any mailing lists. The deadline is July 11th.

This is a prestigious award only given out every two years, and will help us raise funds to keep doing our work on behalf of women and children facing violence, as well as strengthening our efforts to support families in crisis and struggling schools. 200 organisations entered from across the world, and we were one of the few finalists that judges chose as the most outstanding in terms of creativity of approach and the real, measurable results that were demonstrated.

You can find out a lot more in the video above.

One judge said of our work: “Among the outstanding aspects of this organization: well-framed research to lay the groundwork for practical work and creative outreach utilizing internet, and audio versions to empower the illiterate and PR with celebrities.”

Every vote means a lot to us. It’s a vote for our incredible social work staff, who have to witness a lot of trauma and sadness in order to make people’s lives better. It’s a vote for This Life Cambodia’s vision of a country where communities lead the way in creating progress. It would mean so much to our amazing team to get this recognition on the worldwide stage, so please vote and tell your friends.

And please share this blog or our Facebook and Instagram posts about the prize. Every vote gives us a better chance at winning and will help us redouble our efforts to fight for the rights of Cambodians.

Once again, please vote by July 11th at
