International Women’s Day

International Womens Day, a global holiday on March 8, honors and celebrates women’s achievements and contributions in the workplace, society, government and culture.  At TLC, we marked the occasion with two days of events in Kien Sangkae and Kampong Khleang, where we operate This Life in Community. Our team worked with students from the lower secondary schools for weeks to prepare a question and answer style program, followed by lots of audience participation. It was a great, engaging and fun format for hundreds of community members of all ages to learn more about women’s rights and women’s contributions to society. With support from TLC, these community led events are a great example of how tapping into the energy and enthusiasm of the community develops leadership, prompts conversation and introduces positive change!
