This Life Cambodia is a Stars Impact Award Winner!

We are incredibly happy to announce that the Stars Foundation has named This Life Cambodia an Impact Award Winner!

We would like to thank every community member, supporter, donor, staff member, and volunteer who has worked alongside us to make This Life Cambodia the high-impact organisation it is today. The Stars Impact Award positions This Life Cambodia as a global leader in delivering high impact programs for children and families.

Winning this award also acknowledges the passion, dedication, and commitment to listening to, engaging with and advocating alongside communities, that has gone into growing This Life Cambodia from one staff member in 2007 into the organisation it is today. This Life Cambodia now implements four high quality programs engaging with children, families and whole communities.

Previously taking open submissions, The Stars Foundation this year invited the ‘strongest’ organisations in the region to apply following a nomination by established local referral partners. We are so pleased to have been nominated by our peers! The award includes $50,000 plus capacity building support.

Stars Foundation Program Officer for the Asia Region, Katie Williams said:

”We are delighted to be recognising and rewarding This Life Cambodia’s achievements to date, working alongside children and their communities in Cambodia. Throughout the Impact Award selection process, Stars Foundation was impressed by TLC’s commitment to community led and evidence based interventions, and its strong focus on developing robust internal systems to support its work. We look forward to working with the TLC team over the next couple of years at what looks to be an exciting period of growth for the organisation”.

This Life Cambodia’s Executive Director, Billy Gorter, said:

It is an absolute honor to be recognized as a high impact and well-managed organisation by the Stars Foundation. Conversations with communities inspired the creation of This Life Cambodia and the award funding will ultimately allow us to continue to ensure that communities are at the forefront of identifying their own development needs. We celebrate this win with all those who have actively participated and supported us through the evolution of This Life Cambodia over the years”.

Billy will be accepting the award on behalf of This Life Cambodia at a gala awards ceremony at the Palace of Versailles in Paris on 12th December. He’s also joining workshops with fellow Impact Award Winners as well as the Philanthropreneurship Forum 2015, where philanthropists and Stars Impact Award winners from all over the world will converge to discuss the next big ideas in high-impact programs for children, families and communities.
