Scholarship Students Celebrate and Set Goals for the New School Year
On Friday 28th September, TLC’s scholarship students were treated to a trip to the Cambodian Cultural Village to help them relax from their hard work last year, meet friends from other schools and get motivated for the new school year. One student starting grade 11 says, “This trip made me feel happy and helped me to de-stress, so it was really valuable for me. I feel really lucky to be supported by TLC this year”. Between watching traditional performances and visiting cultural exhibits, students took time out to think about their goals for the next school year and to set one easy, one medium, and one challenging goal. One grade 11 student shared that: “education is so important for my future so I have to get myself ready for the school year by preparing a schedule for my studies both at school and at home”. 2013 will also see the first ever group of TLC scholarship students sit the grade 12 final exams! These 6 students share a common commitment to studying hard to pass the final exam, improving their attendance, and improving their grades in hopes of a university scholarship. TLC is supporting 38 scholarship students this year, and we’re very proud of each of them for their achievements and determination to finish secondary school.
