TLC Certified As A Child Wise Child Safe Organisation

This Life Cambodia was recently certified as a Child Wise Child Safe Organisation by Child Wise, a leading international child protection charity committed to fighting against the abuse and exploitation of children. The distinction marks the culmination of months of policy and procedure preparation, staff training, organisational self-audits and a formal review process by Child Wise Cambodia. The final audit reported that “Child Wise is inspired by TLC’s commitment to child safety and its unwavering efforts to keep up to date with best practices in this regard. Child Wise has no hesitation in certifying TLC as a child safe organisation and, indeed, holding it as a model organisation in its dedication to child safety.”

TLC successfully demonstrated its commitment to understanding children and the law in Cambodia, managing the risks to children within TLC’s programs, encouraging and promoting the participation of children, assessing child safety and creating an action plan with education and training for staff members and volunteers. Additionally, TLC has developed a child protection policy, code of conduct and reporting procedure that clearly respects and protects children. TLC’s dedication to the rights and protection of children is a leading example for other organisations in Cambodia.
